Let's face it, quality camera equipment is expensive. Professional rental houses charges hundreds of dollars for even the most basic of cameras. Most of them don't even offer pro-sumer cameras. And even if they did, you would still need to buy expensive insurance to cover them for losses. All of that is fine for professionals, but it pretty much shuts out the emerging media maker. This is why one of Texas Filmmakers' founding goals was to provide low-cost equipment rental.

We offer two types of cameras with accessories: the Canon GL2 and the Canon XL2. Both are 3-chip Standard Definition Cameras. We also offer a small list of additional production equipment. For a complete list with prices - see the Fee Schedule. The Rental Rules & Procedures are below.

Rental Policies

• BASIC or SUPPORTING? - If you are a Supporting Member of Texas Filmmakers, you receive special pricing on all equipment/facilities. If not, you must pay the standard rates for all equipment/facilities. To view the complete fee schedule click here.
• SECURITY DEPOSIT - All members must provide a security deposit of either $50 or $100 depending upon the total replacement value of the equipment being rented. The deposit may be either cash or a credit pre-authorization. The deposit will be refunded upon the prompt return of the rented equipment.
• INSURANCE - If you are not a Supporting member of Texas Filmmakers then you are required to provide insurance covering the total replacement value of the rented equipment and Texas Filmmakers must be named loss payee.
• IDENTIFICATION - All customers must provide two forms of identification, one MUST be a Driver's License/ID.
• PAYMENT - Full payment is due upon pick-up. We accept Cash/Check/Visa/MC.
• RENTAL AGREEMENT - All customers must sign the Off-Premise Rental Agreement upon delivery of the equipment. To view the agreement cick here.
• RESERVATIONS - Equipment can be reserved by calling our office. See Contact Us.
• PICKUP/DROP-OFF - Equipment may be picked up after 3:00 pm the day before your rental date and must be returned by 12:00 pm the day after your rental date.
• LATE FEES - Late fees will be assessed.
